I lived in four different condos since moving out of university housing in 1992. Below is the first one I moved to
Avenue park
This was on Sixth Avenue, not far from the northern end at Bukit Timah Road. Going a bit further north along Eng Neo Avenue you will reach the cluster of bungalows that used to be under NUS housing. Both locations were convenient for sending kids to Nanyang Primary School/Chinese High where one or the other child went from 1986 to 1997.
Avenue Park was originally called Sindo Garden and was developed in the early 80s by an Indonesian timber company, which owned three parcels of land, with the condo on the middle plot. It however ran out of cash during construction and sold the other two pieces to Tat Lee Bank, which later developed two clusters of terrace houses on them.
There was however a housing slump in the early 80s, so Sindo ended up selling the whole (almost empty) complex to City Development, which did some minor touchups but somehow made the buildings look much nicer,

and sold them to individual owners over the later 80s/early 90s when there was a boom - I bought one of the last few units in mid 92.
In 1997 the whole complex was bought out by Keppel Land, which held it for 7-8 years - there was another housing slump - but started construction recently; in fact sold almost all the units quickly before construction had even started.
