four shots of a traffic light taken from about 50ft away at 10x zoom, combined together; the distance causes the scene to be "flat", with the tree behind the light looking as if it was at the same distance. A similar scene from IMM's signboard for the number of carpark spaces available on each floor, shot from 40 feet away:

a sign at Changi Airport MRT - with 3 security cameras mounted on top which I thought make a good scene; now a zoom shot of one camera:

A shot of the UOB tower and the Singland building next to it, from my home in the Beautyworld area - you can just see the tip of the Ngee Ann building (Takashimaya) that happens to be in the line of sight; behind it are some condos in the River Valley area:

You can see the Singland emblem more clearly in a photo shot from Fort Canning Hill

Both photos show up the haze turbulance in the air, not obvious to the naked eye.
Later I bought a 2x telescopic extension (cannot buy it locally; had to order online from Amazon and send it to my daughter's place in Mountain View for pick up during my visit), so the following photo is taken at 20x zoom from Canning Hill:

but I had little success taking city scene from home even after digital processing to improve brightness and contrast - haze and camera shake must have both contributed - I would have got a better result by simply enlarging the 10x zoom photo:
